“We are gonna make it to the misty peak, for real.
- Alok, VirsaFeed”
15 years of trekking and plethora of experience
Fifteen years of trekking and traveling and I computed, I had experienced almost everything there is to experience when it comes to trekking through my total of 35+ trekkings covering various ranges from different parts of India. As far as sun scorched deserts, bone chilling blizzards or knee high powder snow, name it, I have hiked them through in solo or in groups with like minded folks or with warriors from the military. However, there is just something unique with monsoon trekking. It is a different ball game that challenges even the best adventurers.

Oh yeah sure, some people think it’s insane to want to go hiking in the rain. But for me, it is in such treks during monsoon that you can feel the real beauty of nature in its raw essence, the kind of beauty that can’t be copied even if you add sunshine or ask AI to generate some stunning sceneries or mountain views.
This is the awakening of our senses creating an adventure beyond our wildest imagination, in it there are even more ethereal particles than usual.
The scenery also changes – lush green cover seems to come out of all cracks while formerly arid rocks have descended before they carry streams with them. It is like walking into a living watercolor painting that has brighter colors which reveal more openly the darker sides and wild power of the earth when you are loaded with mud around the legs.

Misty Peaks and Lush Valleys: Monsoon Treks in the Sahyadri Mountain Ranges
Well, no need to beat around the bush, monsoon trekking is tough in reality and I advocate that through my past experiences while facing unexpected challenges and falls and slips. All the paths are covered in slimy mud where you lose your footing and need to engage your inner muscles to maintain equilibrium. And the biggest headache is its mistiness – it makes you rely entirely on your compass while respecting the weather more than anything else. Still, isn’t it what makes it exciting? It makes you exceed your limits therefore it demands you stay focused, rely on your gut feeling as well as look back at prior undertakings.
During the monsoon season, trekkers form close friendships between them. It’s tough to handle them together as a group fighting the elements and then experiencing a bond through similar challenges. This is a different kind of connection, based on mutual respect and the silent communication between people who are striving to attain what they are not comfortable with.

When the Monsoon Summit all comes to an end, no matter how hard it is to stand at the top, really it is a success story
And there is also success. Succeeding to summit after a challenging tropical climb is exceptional accomplishment, when you get yourself amid the snow like clouds or the breeze gushing out through you and shaking your body indeed along with facing the strong wind as and when you attain height. It shows that you are tough, can easily adjust and enjoy adventure without any bounds. At the peak, which is not clearly seen through fog and touched Slightly or sometimes heavily by rain, such scenes remain in the mind more than once and for ever.
When rain hits the ground, Are you in search of adventure that will leave you gasping for breath? A trek during a monsoon is challenging but suitable for this. Only the extreme adventurers should try it out since they can never forget it throughout their lives whereas other people could pass this one. Do not forget your waterproof jacket and take it easy with the weather because things might take any direction. The mountains await, and when rain meets rock, the magic truly begins in the forms of the most stunning experience or on the worst side the landslides or avalanches in many cases.

Navigating the Monsoon Drill and Challenges of Trekking
When you decide to take up the treks in any season or in monsoon when you have the extra load of water in a bag and through clothes you wear, you just need to have an active thinking.
To me, Planning any treks or Projects do resonates the lines of Tupac Shakur – “The only way out is through”
This monsoon I am planning to pick a few unexplored paths and treks to experience the thrill and challenge of monsoon trek, which is way more challenging than normal days hiking. In Monsoon the uphill and descend trek both pose major challenges and pressure on ankles and toes.
Sahyadri: Maharashtra’s Verdant Western Ghats
My first monsoon trek of this season begin with Shenwad Bhavanigadh trek. The verdant Western Ghats host Bhavanigadh; one destination indeed magical with monsoon rains and hills that are full of waterfalls .
This series of hills and lush green mountains cut across the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala. Captivating the interest of nature lovers, Western Ghats has mountains shrouded in mist. In addition to that, hill stations such as Lonavala-Khandala, Matheran and Mahabaleshwar are situated within The Sahyadri range of Mountains on Maharashtra soil, an escape for those who seek tranquility in the face of all this beauty. These rangers offer a multitude of peaks and heights for trekkers to climb regardless of the season. These rangers offer many peaks and heights to allow trekkers to try their best to achieve the challenges and one can spend the time away from mundane city life. Like I completed a night Kalsubai Trek, the highest range of Maharashtra region a few months back.
My advice when you trek through the wild areas during the monsoon is that there could be very damp pathways, unknown animals, reptiles or fully grown plants. Let it be a region where you are cautious and put on good protective gear and clothes. Don’t forget the beauty in having such water-filled surroundings.

Guided by Adventurous trek leads and guides to the Summit
This was indeed an impressive trekking experience we have shared! It is the specialized trek organizers and guides that really alter things, they help you to go through rocky terrain while at the same time giving us a chance to see nature’s beauty that leaves one breathless. We are grateful for their intelligence and help they offer us. It’s simply amazing to know and meet a very young boy who climbed a hill on the way up from the plains to the Himachal region in complete snow and got his name in records as a young climber!. It was great to get guided through such trained and knowledgeable organizers and trek leaders of Wild Voyages.
