“Travel and explore is not just about packing, check-in, lodging, check-out, traveling back home and unpacking, indeed there is a lot that gets into the picture if you are a focused and learned traveler and explorer.”

Losing yourself in the world of travel is always a different experience at an incremental level and not everyone cherish the moment of traveling and experiencing the less travelled or walked paths over the mountain and jungles or in tribal and rural parts of our society to know the culture and life, so called the virsa.

It doesn’t really matter what the destination is, whether it is in some urban or in local sites, what matters is the travelled or walked paths that imprints the lifetime memories and values and attachments. One indeed experiences and learns the cultural differences, hardships in which the localities live their life happily. Planning, measuring, calculating, analyzing, budgeting, bookings, checking holidays and leaves are the major activities to be done in an ordinary way to make the experience extraordinary.

India is full of historical, urban, rural and tribal parts along with an abundance of hill stations as some more conventional than others. There are many offbeat hills which are less travelled and explore and hiking on such hills gives you an opportunity to explore lesser known destinations and experiences.

Dudhsagar Railway Bridge

It’s been a decade and five years of being into extensive traveling and exploring in boots and tracks at different states, cities, rural and tribal parts in India. I indeed work hard to give practical travel advice and plan to help you travel better and with ease. You can plan your travel better, cheaper and smarter by following advice and steps. It’s not that tough to travel in smaller, larger groups or in solo in most of the cases.

Change of atmosphere:

Travel and explore is not just about packing, check-in, lodging, check-out, traveling back home and unpacking, indeed there is a lot that gets into the picture if you are a focused and learned traveler and explorer.

Moment of madness:

When you are out at a campsite, beach or at some remote site, do not forget to lose yourself completely into the outing and adventurous activities or what you like the most as per passion. Enjoying what you are seeing through and walking through the trips, driving, trekking is the most that shall be taken care of in order to get the best out of the planned trip out of a busy schedule.

Sunrise to sunset:

The beauty and eye catching sceneries from sunrise to sunset followed by the shades of color and effects that surrounds the body is really an unparalleled experience. In a recent experience we walked the beaches of Goa and enjoyed the tranquility of peace, the mesmerizing sounds of the sea waves, early morning walks through the silent streets, sitting in sand and gossiping.

Things to keep in mind while traveling to long destinations and less travelled paths:

Pack light and precise (Capsule pack):

Your perfectly packed bag plays an equal role in making your trip comfortable and light while you walk, hike or unpack. Routine packing and hiking makes you experience in making a perfect ultra-light pack on its own and my thoughts why it’s always better to travel with just a single back pack. I continue to optimize and improve my packing list and the travel strategy. It’s not false to say, that a perfect strategy is always a need of the trip followed by Plan B.

Surf and learn a bit about local terms for seamless communication:

Your travel can become way more comfortable, if you know someone there in local, and know few of the local jargons out there, food options, restricted places and unsafe corners of the city or the town that may need to be avoided to stay safe and unharmed from the trap. There are well networked traps and places where one can be dragged by just luring with so and so and at the end it costs a lot of money to get out of the planned trap. So, it’s always good to know the places, areas and have well-planned routes when you enter the city to start exploring.

Planning and Management:

Planning of the trip in advance will make your day a great one, if not planned in advance, then your day may become like a normal day. Planning and Management goes hand in hand when we move solo or in crew because not everyone has the same capability of getting up before the sun rises or not everyone can make up to travel continuously throughout the day with just a few hours of sleep.

Hence, a well communicated stand-up meeting before we sleep to start the next adventurous day is a good option to avoid the failures of the new experiences or the new day of the trip.

-Budgeting:

Budgeting has always been the toughest nut to crack when we think of some new destination to visit. Most people are concerned about unplanned expenses, while the planned one can always be estimated. But nevertheless, if the plan is nicely looked at and analyzed from a 360 degree approach, then a plan can be executed in a capped amount.

-Perfect road trips:

Road trips are mostly filled with insights, sounds, life and sensations and the sensations may shake your thoughts that you might have thought or knew about the travel and road trips. Never underestimate the risks of road trips, you need to have patience, discipline, identities and a map in hand to travel on the correct paths. Also during road trips, one has to be ready to face animals, monkeys, cattle and other moving creatures crossing streets and rural parts and we shall make sure of not harming them nor getting harmed while we travel through the roads of cities, villages, rural and tribal parts.

-Staying safe from scams:

In many large cities, risks of various types of scams are always there and one has to take care of such traps. Scammers and thieves start hunting from the shadows and they are usually armed with countless travel related scams to take out money from travelers. Bump and grab is one of the most common practice that usually make people lose their valuables while traveling in the metro and busy streets, bus or trains.

Fake officials are also a kind of one big trap where fake people act like a real official from the security checks and ask for the documents and in return expect you to give bribes to get back your documents in originals or for other valuables. Hence, to know the tactics and other standards while traveling, is a good move to land and come out safe from a destination.

-Hiking against the compass:

Most of people are addicted to travel with the help of Google maps or by following the compass. But, have you even been into simply walking or driving with no tracking and compass following, if yes, then I am sure the driving must have always thrilled and made you think, think and constantly think to know where you may reach, would you have any easy escape from the destination before the sunset, would you get a potable water out there or food or local people to communicate with? There could be a number of concerns that start bombarding your mind like anything, right! Well, traveling without a compass is full of excitement, new learning, and eagerness to know, communicate and know more about the passing sites and cultures.
